During the week before his crucifixion, Jesus tells the third and most pointed parable involving a vineyard. In the “Parable of the Evil Farmers,” Jesus predicts His death and resurrection. He also points to his exaltation as the central figure—and question—in all of history, and the direct leader of His people.
The parable reveals that we are faced with a righteous God under whose gaze we cannot stand, and yet a God who gloriously provides escape from His judgment through His own Son, who is worthy of all praise and adoration.
