On Memorial Day we remember those who gave their life for something bigger than themselves. They chose to put themselves in harm’s way for their fellow service members, to fight tyranny, to serve their country. In the same way, Jesus calls us to serve something bigger, to fight in the spiritual battle, to stand with our fellow spiritual soldiers, to serve the One we love. When we do this, we become a lamp on a stand that illuminates the heart of God.
