In 2018, Hurricane Michael, a category 5 storm with winds up to 155 mph, hit the state of Florida. In one beach community, it was a scene of total devastation. All homes on the water were destroyed… except one. The key: The house left standing was built to withstand a hurricane.
Our lives need to be built for the long-haul of eternity. Thinking only of this world is short-sighted and disastrous. Our next Jesus Story is the “Rich Fool,” a cautionary tale about our human tendency to put our faith in the fleeting power of wealth instead of in eternal treasures from God.
